First of all, the fault light will be on, and the engine may shake and emit white smoke. The engine starts for a long time, or it can't be started, or the cruise can't be used normally.
The function of crankshaft position sensor is to determine the position of crankshaft, that is, the angle of crankshaft. It usually works together with the camshaft position sensor to determine the basic ignition time. The engine starts ignition at the end of the compression stroke. The engine computer calculates the signals from the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft position sensor. Through the camshaft position sensor, it can know which cylinder piston is at the top dead center and which cylinder piston is in the compression stroke. In this way, the engine computer will know when to light which cylinder.
If the crankshaft position sensor is damaged, the engine control unit will not receive the reference signal when starting, and the ignition coil will not generate high voltage. After turning on the ignition for 2 seconds, if the engine is not started, the engine control unit will cut off the control voltage to the fuel pump relay, stop the power supply to the fuel pump and ignition coil, resulting in the failure to start the vehicle. |
